1975-77 ബാച്ചില്‍ പാലാ കോളേജില്‍
ക്ലാസ്സില്‍ രണ്ടറ്റത്തായിരുന്നു ഞാനും സാബുവും.
201 ഉം 282 ഉം
എങ്കിലും സാബുവിനെ ഞാന്‍ പെട്ടന്ന് ശ്രദ്ധിച്ചത്
വിലാസത്തിന്റെ പ്രത്യേകതകൊണ്ടായിരുന്നു

വീട്ടുപേരും നാട്ടുപേരുംചേര്‍ന്നുണ്ടായ പ്രാസഭംഗി
എനിക്ക് രസമായി തോന്നി.
രണ്ടുവര്‍ഷം നീണ്ടസൗഹൃദം അവിടെ തുടങ്ങി.
പ്രീഡിഗ്രി ക്ലാസ്സുകള്‍
അടിയന്തിരാവസ്തയുടെ ശാന്തതയില്‍
തുടങ്ങി അവസാനിച്ചപ്പോള്‍
ഓട്ടോഗ്രാഫുകളുടെ തിരക്കായി .
പരസ്പരം പലരും പലതും എഴുതി.
എഴുതി എഴുതി തേഞ്ഞവാചകങ്ങളില്‍
ചിലര്‍ കടിച്ച് തൂങ്ങിയപ്പോള്‍
ചിലര്‍ സ്വന്തം സാഹിത്യം വിളമ്പി.
ഒരു വിരുതന്‍ ഒരു അത്ഭുതം വര്‍ണിച്ചു.
ശ്രീനിവാസാ നിനക്കറിയാമോ?
പൂട്ടുകുറ്റി is a wonderfull thing
കാരണം അതില്‍ പൊടിവാരിയിട്ടാല്‍ വടി പോലിരിക്കും
ഇത്തരം കുട്ടിക്കളികള്‍ക്കിടയിലാണു
ഞാന്‍ വടിവൊത്ത അക്ഷരങ്ങളില്‍ എഴുതിയ
ഒരു പേജ് ശ്രദ്ധിച്ചത് .

എന്തൊ ആ വാചകങ്ങളോട്
ഒരു ഭീതി എനിക്ക് തോന്നി.
കുറച്ച് വര്‍ഷങ്ങള്‍ക്ക് ശേഷം
പള്ളിക്കത്തോട്ടില്‍ വച്ച് ഞങ്ങള്‍ ഒരിക്കല്‍ കൂടി കണ്ടു.
അടുത്തുള്ളഹോട്ടലില്‍ നിന്നും
നെയ്റോസ്റ്റും ചായയും കഴിച്ചുകൊണ്ട്
വിശേഷങ്ങള്‍ കൈമാറി
സാബു ഒരു കോണ്‍ ട്രാക്ടറായി മാറിയിരിക്കുന്നു.
വര്‍ക്കുകള്‍ നന്നായി നടക്കുന്നുണ്ട്
നല്ല സന്തോഷത്തിലാണയാള്‍
ഏതാണ്ട് ഒരു മാസം കഴിഞ്ഞു കാണും
ഒരു ദിവസം പത്രത്തില്‍
സാബുവിന്റെ ഫോട്ടോ ഒരടിക്കുറിപ്പും
സാബു കെ തോമസ് മൂന്നാം ചരമദിനം
മഞ്ഞപ്പിത്തം സാബുവിനെ
ഈ ലോകത്ത് നിന്ന് കൊണ്ടുപോയിരിക്കുന്നു
ഞാന്‍ കുറെ നേരം ആ പടത്തില്‍ നോക്കിയിരുന്നു.
ഓട്ടോഗ്രാഫില്‍ സാബു കുറിച്ച വാക്കുകളായിരുന്നു

സാബു എഴുതിയവാക്കുകള്‍ അറംപറ്റിയതാണോ?
അതോ ദൈവമിങ്ങിനെ യൊക്കെ
മനുഷ്യനെക്കൊണ്ട് മുന്‍കൂര്‍ എഴുതിക്കാറുണ്ടോ?

the language used in this comment is not from a person calling me "ammame" but it is from a person calling me "ippa" .I can detect this language even when my eyes are closed .
